Combines R series battery compartment

none that I have come across. The batteries need a source of air to cool them. If you enclose them too much, you probably will greatly shorten their life and have an acid mess in the bottom. Just use a little air every day and blow them off. The enclosed ones of the newer R's is more of a pain, so blow them once a week.

Cut a door to the batteries through the outer cowling just aft of the radiator screen. Frame it on the interior with light angle iron and hinge it with piano hinge. latch it with magnets, bolt studs or over center latches. Makes cleaning easy and battery service_randr a simple matter. While your at it install a battery disconnect switch in there for additional fire, theft and battery drain protection. If done right it looks like it belonged there all the time.
