Combines R series bolt on accelerator rollers into a N

Pengs, The old original shafts will not accept the new style bolt-on lugs. The old part number supercedes to the new style shaft since the old tire carcus style is no longer available. The set you have out of a R-Series will be a different shaft for the rear roll, as the rear shaft on your N5 will be longer on the RH side to accomodate the tailings drive. You may be able to have a machine shop modify that back shaft to work in your machine, depends on how much time you have. Here in the US we have access to new aftermarket shafts for just over $400 for the pair without lugs. Good luck, Hyper Harvest II

Thanks Hyper. I'm going to install R shafts and modify for tailings drive. I have 6_7 weeks . So everything else fits , timing etc IJ One can than unbolt these new rolls with out removing shafts to replace IJ Can one reverse them and get more out of them IJ Thanks again . Pengs5

The front shaft will be a tad longer on th RH side since it has provisions for a gear to drive overfeed augers. You could always trim this off if needed for clearance of drive belt.On the lH side of the rear shaft you may have to change the length of your jackshaft that connects to back roll depending on length of roll shaft. Timing is still done the same way as old style by removing small access cover and adjusting front gear to get roll flutes opposing each other. Yes,you can remove and replace roll flutes without removing shafts by either removing rear dist. auger or by putting a piece of plywood or similar on shoe and replacing from shoe area.(This is less desirable to me as it is much dirtier.) By the time you have enough wear on rubber flutes that you can get your fingers down through rolls to your second knuckle it will be time for replacement. Hyper Harvest II

Thanks again from across the big pond. The information off this site is priceless and luckily US dealers and farmers have got things in place to keep older machines going with parts and know how. Same for our aussie hero's Rolf and ROM We'd all like new but often have to make do. We get raw deals on older machines out here. Then ripped off. But i do enjoy beating them at their own game thanks to the internet and Usa dealers willing to ship stuff out. Was quite happy with the Austrlian aftermarket roller replacements and last time straight off the shelf. limited demand now means they dont make some until they get a order . But anyway bolt in flutes will be nice. Thanks pengs5
