False floors were put in by the company if in the wheat belt. Main thing it did to help anything is prevent chain from bulging up half way between tention drum and drive sprockets. You could easily fabricate something for that. Be sure it has the long tention springs like we still have today and run them a little tight if you have problems with front feed overloading. Best to put in the floor or some sort of anti-bow up devise lined with UHMW plastic or the like. That machine surely had the anti-wraps. I would install what is missing. Good luck

Thanks for the comments NDDAN. They are very appreciated as I am new to Gleaner. What would the most effective and economical way to go about the retrofit to include the false floorIJ If I understand your comments, you seem to indicate just a short area of floor is needed. How long would the floor need to beIJ Or would it be better to go the entire lengthIJ Is there something to be purchased from the manufacturerIJ Or is it simple and better to build it at homeIJ Also is there a alternative fix to the missing anti-wrap devices or are they just best purchased from AGCOIJ Thanks again Ed

I'll try remember to see if kit is still available (you never know). Otherwise you can see how it goes without it. If when feeding hard you hear chain rub up against square tube at rear of feeder you need to either tighten chain, install floor kit, or install a brace across feeder half way between tention drum and drive sprockets. Brace should be at least 6" wide and be lined with approx. 1_2" thick UHMW (plastic) where the chain will push against. lock tention drum in uppermost position with chain very tight to find height at which you want to fasten the brace. The anti-wraps are nothing more than a couple pieces or rolled tin and should be purchased from Gleaner. I'm quite sure the strippers on side of sprockets would still be in there. I'll let you know if factory floor kit is still available. Good luck

Kit is no longer available. You can get just the floor parts for about $250US. Full kit included 7" front drum, heavier shaft and sprockets for front feed, Stiffer tention on rear feed belt, adding some springs to slip clutch, ect. The floor parts that would prevent chain from bulging up in the center are the main things that would help you out. Take care
