Combines R50 oil temp too high

Everytime I have heard this problem it has been solved by spending about 1 hour cleaning oil cooler (above oil filter) with a wire and I think a hacksaw blade will fit thru it ok. The problem is when you clean this cooler with air or water pressure, the angle of the cooler is so that you cannot get the pressure thru it right so you end up cleaning at it and ending up over a period of time with build up. Hope this helps Nathan

Also, check the wear on the fan fins. If they are getting worn down the temp problems will show up at higher outside temps. Not enough air going thru the fins or cooler and problems will start. Your manual or the dealer should have the wear tolerances for the fan on the Deutz.

If none of the above works try this, we have had good luck on both the v8 and the r50 engine. It more difficult to do on the v8. Remove the oil thermostate and place a 7mm shim under it. You will have to make your own shim but it not hard to find pipe stock the same diameter as the thermostate and make it 7mm think. If you are doing a v8 I would recomend installing a new thermostate because it is a big job getting to it, also clean the oil cooler while you got it off and can get the right angle with air hose. The r50 does not require oil cooler removal. The part number for the thermostat is 2233216. By raising the thermostat position you allow more oil flow.. BTW I didn't come up with this..Somebody with Agco told me about it. We have been doing it since about 1997-98.
