Just remove the two bolts that hold the spreader pan on the vertical spreader shaft and remove the spreader pan. If youre really slow it will take you 3 minutes ;-]

Yes, and then you can fabricate a slide to bolt below the straw discharge to move the windrow to the right a bit to avoid dropping in the wheeltrack. This will keep the windrow on the stubble and the straw will dry quicker. A side note - get rid of any reverse bars and you'll get good, long straw. Hyperize your machine and you'll think it was cut by a conventional.... Good luck! Tom langan

I had the slide made up ,it worked slick. I also dropped the chopper concave down and ran the chopper on slow speed (if you have heavy straw you have to be sure the chopper is getting the straw out of the rotor fast enough). If you close the concave up to tight it will still chew up the straw. Good luck Bert

By hyperizing you will get longer strawIJ I have lost some custom work because customers say straw is to chopped up. Machine is set up with only two reverse bars and no chopper.

Worked for us. We ran with all forward bars before we Hyperized and were pleased with straw even then. We now get even longer straw since Hyperizing. The crop moves through the rotor in a smoother fashion, there is less straw being "double threshed" with the helical extension over the feeder opening, and less straw getting chewed up at the discharge end with helicals extended there. I will say that we have found that keeping the machine running at capacity has the most profound effect on straw length. Our machine will chew straw up a bit more in areas where the crop is down and we have to use a slow ground speed to allow reel to pick crop up. Seems like if you keep plenty of new crop coming in to push straw through, you get better straw. First thing I would do if I were you is to remove the reverse bars and simply leave the spot blank. Then consider Hyperizing when time will allow. Good luck, Tom langan
