Combines R52 cobs and stalks

On our R50 here would be my settings (aprx) for those conditions. Rotor @ 300 and open to .75" or just a hair more. Fan maxed out. Top seive has the front 8 rows cut seperate and they run about .75" Mid section will be just under .5". If we get anything in this sample it is usually from an area that didn't keep the combine full but sample cleans right back up in good corn. Cob quality can be a big culprit here. I always run the bottom seive open just enough to let grain fall through and that's it - if you see a few wedged that seems to be about right. Our tickets have a .2 - .4% mog. Interested in what others might say.

in SOME cases, closing the top screen down to below .5" and OPENING the botttom sieve to about .4 will allow air to blow out cob and small peices rather than sieve them out. Too close a bottom setting in high yield ing corn will block a lot of air in the first foot of chaffer and sieve. Again, in some conditions, not all - try it and see.
