if one side is worn more than the other your concave was not level, when you put your new one in make sure that it is zero'd and leveled correctly. hope this helps.

pretty good job. option we use is to build up the grate IN the combine, then hardsurface the top layer and using a straight edge grind level. This will handle hours of service. Just a note here, when we use steep pitch helicals over the THRESHER side transistion into the sep std helicals and add the helical extention the RH wear factor us lessed by 80% or more. Also less HP is used. Eliminating the double pass threshing is a big fuel savings as well.

When you say build up, do you mean welding it up to a certain height, then hard surfacing over thatIJ Or just running hard surfaceingIJ Two passes or just oneIJ Thanks Kurt

First we unbolt and remove front half. Then unbolt the filler piece right under trap door. Then pull left and right shaft that rock door pivots on. There are flat irons stored under door to hold door up in that area. Then pull hollow pins that trap door pins went threw. Now the two pins at top rear of concave. Concave can be lifted out into engine compartment. We have often times just replaced front bolted in concave for if it is good and true we have no troubles. We get such good life from original chromed that we usually choose that route. Now it will be fun to see how long this stuff lasts after tweaking helicals to prevent second pass. Good luck
