Combines R52 hydraulic oil tank

On some of the R50s we removed the breather, inserted a hose 2' in length and reinstalled the breather and tied it up. We have not had the problem on the 2 series. I suspect you have air entering the system somewhere causing cavitation and as the oil enters the reservoir it is bubbling the hot oil. Check it out by running up to temp and CAREFUllY inspect the oil through the filler cap to see what happens when the header is raised and lowered.

The oil level should be between the bubbles with the feederhouse in the raised position

We've raised breather on at least one 2 series. I believe that one had baffle in tank so close to breather hole that oil would spatter up mainly when header was lowered fast. Good luck

do you have RWA IJ Bad RWA will cause high case drain pressure and do this.

Yes we do have RWA and run it most always, our creek bottom ground is usually damp and well sometimes shouldn't be in there but, you know. It seems to operate very normal, cuts ground speed by about 1_3 when running, never smell any over heated oil. High case drain pressureIJ Do you mean return flow into the tankIJ As far as Bad RWA. Actuator valve or motorsIJ Thanks Gleamer

I've seen exactly what you describe on a couple machines over the years. We do not have RWA. I believe baffle in tank was to close to breather or return line could be spraying up at top of tank. We fixed just exactly the way you describe.

I was hoping it wasn't RWA. I welded up a 2 quart burp tank today, i will mount this up next to the radiator overflow. will run a hose in the bottom and put the breather on top. It must not happen on very many units or there would be more talk about it and maybe a kit to mount high on the side panel. Thanks Gleamer
