Combines R52 hydro final drive

Had a similar sound on our combine once. Turned out to be loose bolts for either dual or drive tires. I hope that is all it is for you too.

COUPlERS _ AXlE SHAFT SlACK, inner most likely right in the middle under the header throat over the beam one out put each side, have they been regularly greased,IJ. if not you will have to replace the couplers as they will eventually ruin the splines if they have not already. 50 hour lube point just like the brakes and outter couplers.

This is my first season with the machine. Are the grease zerks on the side of the front feederhouse area or underneathIJ I followed the manual for greasing and don't think I missed any.

Brian, you the man! Phewww! I had 4 or 5 of the drive bolts that had loosened by 1_2 turn or so. I guess combining on the sidehills, etc may have caused this. You know it crossed my mind briefly that this may be the problem but then my mind was overtaken with worst case scenarios. I'll sleep easier now. Thanks

Tbran, I found the area that you were referring to and everything looks good. As mentioned below Brian was right and just tightening the wheel drive bolts solved it. Thanks anyways!

Glad that is all it was. I know that icky feeling all to well. For us it was the first day out with a new to us R-72. My insides were sick with the thought that the final drives were bad. What a relief!
