forget the raised sheets and put the hose mod on, cheaper in the long run.

Have two neighbors that have switched from hose mod. to raised feathering sheets on 320 heads. Both like better. Brian

For $119.00 you can fix that stupid, dangerous door and install a trap door that only opens when you want it to instead of when a simple slug of beans or wheat open it. My combine is a '96 R-62 and now it will stay with anybody's combine, it eats those slugs without worrying about haveing the door so tight that it eats a rock instead of opening. It's dangerous because of the 2 levers, and the height, a man could break his neck, and to have to get out and eat all that dust to close it, I think Gleaner could have come up with something better than that losey stone door, until they do the trap is the next best thing. Of course the first step is to try eliminate the slugs. Door will need to be set a bit tighter with hump installed. Still should be able to latch without great difficulty. Good helicals and 2nd helical from gearbox extended a bit will help prevent slug from coming around and bumping door open. I've found rock doors to be very effective and will point out other problems that should be looked at. A rock sump will decoy other problems and many will neglect from dumping regularly and also cause feeding problems in some crops and conditions. Good luck
