Get Your Alternator checked it probably has a internal regulator. Take it to a auto shop that can test and fix it. I had one off of a R50 tested and fixed in 30 min. while I waited this summer. It now holds 14 volts with all lights and every thing on. Cost $45

Hey Good Buddy from Wisconsin I will cast another vote for getting that alternator repaired. If you have a Neihoff, you might want to look at converting to a 1-wire Delco that will fit in the same mounting brackets. A 15SI or 20SI Delco will be the one you want. And make sure you go to a car repair shop where they work on these things every day. A good rebuilt without exchange (they usually wont take Neihoff as an exchange) will cost $100-$200. Tom in MN

I'm also pretty much convinced it's the alternator also. Yesterday, it seemed to have cured itself - at least for the time being. Never noticed low voltage at all. I printed your post out and we are keeping an eye on things - hoping to make it through this season or at least 'til a rainy spell when we can take the time to look into it. I sure appreciate everyone's input! Finished soybeans yesterday. Still have a couple hundred acres of corn to do - some is ours, some is for others. Kinda hoping to pick up some more jobs this fall - when combining ends, it's time to cut wood for the winter and I don't look forward to that job at all! Thanks again!

I would bet it is the alternater. Take it to an alternater shop or somthing like that and it should cure your problems. We had this problem on our 93 R-52 and that was what we did
