We ran into some of these situations also, the new 5 series is alot more hi tech than the 2 series and its a new learning curve for the mechanics. I hear your pain about this, I have heard the same issues from the NH and JD mechanics and customers. Ag is going hi tech so hold on tight, its going to be a new curve for us farmers also.

Well not exactly. We spend about 40 hours on each new machine.. It does not leave the shop unless it has 2 to three hours on the separator at half speed. The overhead takes about 30 minutes to set, but the auto header control takes a couple of hours usually. It has to be set and reset after everything breaks in. The key is potentiometers. Voltage must be no higher than 3.5 V (press the height button overhead for about 8 seconds - it will go into diagnostic mode - then quickly press the down arrow while it says no error code , unless you have an error code) til it says left sensor. Then note the reading. IT should be 3.5V down to 1.25V. It will tell you current, min and max as you arrow down, for left then right then tilt then throat potentiometers. To reset it turn off key and restart. The lH sensor we have been having to bend the piece of reinforcement to let the arm move forward a little more to get the best performance. When all read the same do the calibration in the book. It is nice.

I must say honestly tbran, you are probably more helpful than alot of dealerships and you dont charge for your information you give away on this site. All I can say in appreciation to guys like you on all these sites is Thank You, keep up the generosity, I guarantee you that guys like you are a great asset to customers looking for more help than they are getting. Doesnt matter if its blue green or silver.

Right ON Silver Shoes,couldn't have said it better!!! We bought a new combine in 96. Service manager came out to make sure everything was running and set right. We went down the field a ways then got out to check how it was doing. virtually nothing on the ground so we both thought that was good. i asked him something about the combine,he mumbled something i couldn't hear, a bit later i asked him something else about the combine and he came right out and said that i probably know more about these thing then he does! When our combine was brought out to the farm it still had kansas bug juice running down the window from the flippin' ride up to canada on the transport truck!!!

You guys are right about the silver GURUS.Tbran has been great help on my old F2 as well(new to me 3 falls ago).I've been looking around this fall and seeing more silver rotors in my neck of the woods than I would have ever expected.Several old N's even.I wonder how many of them could use a good HYPERIZING and how the owners would love it too -IF THEY ONlY KNEW!!!This site ought to be mandatory reading with the purchase of a Gleaner rotor.

What are you asking aboutIJ Repairs, fuel, deprciationIJ If you are just asking about repairs then I would think that it would be very much less than $35,000. Exspecially since you have 2 years of warrenty. If you are talking about what your trade in value is going to be when you done after the first 500, then I don't know. With our first 72 we traded for about $60 an hour, but that was 7 years ago. Just my thoughts Kurt
