Combines R60 broken tie rod end

Your toe-in is set incorrectly. The shop manual covers proper setting procedure so each cylinder bottoms before the opposite side hits the stop. This is very important. The previous owner of my R60 had lots of tie rod trouble but I havent had any.

Tom, You are absolutley right, thanks for your advice. Cylinder stroke was too long. Force from the cylinders was bending tie rod ends and has destroyed the tapered holes that tie rod ends fit into. Can you imagine, this machine has run like that for 15 years. Previous owner had trouble, but just kept replacing tie rod ends. A machine shop in Weyburn tells me they can drill out holes and install a tapered sleeve for $125_spindle. New spindles are $700Can.
