Combines R60 Over heating

Check to make sure the fan is not worn out_down. It is my understanding that when the Deutz fan fins get old and worn they lose cooling capacity. Without enough air to the hydraulics and engine thru the fan and the problems begin. Have a neighbor that burned up an R60 because the fan wasn't cooling it and moving enough air in soybeans and the fins plugged and the fire started. Insurance gave him enough to replace it with a 62 Cummins powered and he has had no problems with that machine and had daily headaches with the Deutz in the combine, loves his DA Aircooled tractors.

I agree with John that it must be air flow if both systems are overheating. Gleaner put out a bulliton in the early '90's to help point out wear guideline on blade. I believe they said to measure 1" down from tip of blade and it should measure 3" if you plan on making the season in hot climates. I have sean them down to 2 3_4 and still pumping enough air. I have checked air pressure inside cowling with water manometer and find that if water pressure is below approx. 4" of water you will likely run warm if in that hot of climate. Check that air pressure at 2300 engine RPM. Is it running hot round after round or is it spuraticIJ May help to blow back and forth threw coolers if you didn't allready. A good soaking and pressure wash of coolers may increase there thermal efficiency a bit but likely not for longIJ Be sure doors under jugs are closed so air is being forced threw coolers.
