I am not clear on what you did and perhaps others who could answer your question arent either. What did you short the purple wire to, ground, power, etcIJ Good luck.
Can't say about you're shorting out problem. My chopper tends to run all the time the engine is running, maybe the clutch is set up too tight, anyway I don't worry about it.
I shorted it to power just momentarily and the whole seperator started. the seperator stops and the chopper stays running as long as the motor is running. In other words this has to be done just once in the morning and the combine works normally the rest of the day. Thanks Tom.
Sorry i didnt explain it very good.I dont have a short problem, shorting it to power was the only way i could get it to work.mine to runs all the(before this problem)time.
I can't help but think you have a safty module problem. Maybe you got friend that has a new enough 40 50 60 or 70 that you can try his module. Good luck
Is the safety module the box with all white wires coming from itIJ Would it be alright to wire it so it comes on with the rest of the seperatorIJ Which brings up the question why does it have a clutch on it in the first placeIJ
Yes it is the box with all the white wires. Chopper clutch is allready teed into the wire that goes to hydralic clutch solinoid. That splice is allready back by the hydralic valves and chopper clutch. Chopper is driven right off of engine so it needs its own clutch. Some choppers run when engine is started for they have to much grease in the bearings next to clutch. You likely have a bad module or trouble with currant feed or ground to module. My money says module. If you can follow clutch feed wire into module and then the one that goes to clutch you could run wire run wire around box to test it out only. You wouldn't want to bypass safty network would you. I think you have relay in box that needs replaced. You can have repaired if you have time. Good luck
