Combines R60

The limiting factor is the sickle. An R60 will handle any bean head you want to put on it. I have a 25 only because my buildings arent big enough for 30 Tom in MN

Exactly right Tom, the ground speed is limited to the sickle as to not be pushing over beans and then it's still hard to keep the rotor full. And Tom, you need to invest in a head trailer to back a bigger head in the corner, all my neighbors are happy that I am a pilot with the speed I have to run my Hyper'd N6. I have thought seriously of figuring out a way to speed up my corn head some more as 6 to 7mph in 200+ bu corn still can't keep the rotor full. The most fun I have is watching the neighbor with his STS with the same size head and more HP crawl through the field, it won't even compete with my almost 20 yr old machine.

You are exactly correct, John. My neighbors have green machines that are 10 years newer than my R60 and you can tell where property lines are by where geese are feeding. We couldnt figure out why geese avoided my field until someone said there is more grain in a field that was picked by a JD combine. The neighbors always brag about the job their newer machines do, but geese know where to go for a good meal.

Maybe it is too early in the morning but what do you mean by rotor grate, and concave frame assemblyIJ I have a concave in my R60 but not the items you are talking about. I see nobody has replied so I have to assume I am not the only one who doesnt understand your question. Good luck. Tom in MN

Were you just getting home or is it timeeeee to makeeee the donutsIJIJIJ I think the guy will have to check out which system he has P1 or P3. Gleaner words the P3 concave kind of funny. I believe they call the rear half of concave the concave and the front half which bolts into concave frame assembly the grate. I would call the front half the front concave and the rear half the rear concave. The grate would be the seperator grate that is welded in solid on seperator side (left side) of prosessor. If he has the P1 or P3 the concave comes out the rear toward the engine. After first removing the rear distribution auger he will get a better look at what concave is sitting on. I think he could wing it at getting a P1 concave out but if he has a P3 he best get the info from service manual on removal. Cylinder will likely be out anyway if doing work with concave but if not we would prefer it out for as easy as it is. I wish him good luck.

DonutsIJ You have to be kidding, Dan. The Chief Money Spender has me on a granola and wheat bran diet this time of day and the only way I can get around it is to get up before she does. Good explanation on the concave stuff. I hope Glen (or is it Vern) followed it. If not, he can shoot more questions. My P1 processor is a little different so some of it doesnt apply to my combine or my memory is failing so fast I can't remember 5 years ago when we had it apart.
