Combines R62 bean screenIJ

Mike, A bean screen will help,we run them,.438 staggered round hole.A seive closed down tight or half plugged will disrupt air more than a screen. Run a wedge on your concave to better thresh those tough pods. With the screens we've found we can run a wider chaffer setting and still get cleaner beans. The pods that are left then are almost impossible to thresh. The low bars are available from hyperII at 319-698-4005.Replace your reverse bars with them.Install the F rasp concave bars on the front of the seperateing grate bolted to the rods,it'll take two to span the full width. If your running the older concave with narrow spaced rods you could remove every other rod from at least the top section.Nothing to drastic yet rightIJ.Convert you chaffer to the super chaffer so you can control the front 6-8 rows. Run them 1_4 inch wider.Count your lost beans carefully,it takes 4_sg.ft. to make a bushel_acre. Most picky harvest'ers can get total loss cutter bar, shoe, rotor down to 1_2 to 2_3 bpa. 2-3 beans_ square ft. on the average.Slug feeding can cause rotor loss, adjust the turnbuckle on the end of the header together to make sure you are cutting as low as possible. Many cutter bars are cutting in the top half of their range.Install the hose or we prefer the corner section from a tin machine shed behind the cutterbar to help flip the beans into the cross auger.Saveing more of the crop you've already raised is just good business.Useing less power to utilize more of your combine investment also makes good sense.Go for it. Install the hose or we prefer the corner section from a tin machine shed behind the cutter bar Hey Paul, would you please explain this corner section thingIJ Is it something like a 3x3 angleIJ I have been planning to install a 3 hose but will do whatever is better. Thanks Tom in MN

Tom, We've found the corner section used on most metal buildings works two ways to enhance feeding. The angle fits the reel and allows the reel to lift and flip the beans from the cutter bar just as the hose would. But the angle on the back side of the metal corner section also guides the crop and beans back into the auger. We flatten the corner section slightly(to about a 3 inch height) and attach it to the cutter bar with screws on the front only.We attach as close to the sickle bar as possible.Use washers under the screw heads so they don't pull through the tin. I believe agco now offers a simular kitIJIJ Hyper

Do you use a full piece of corner flashingIJ or do you cut it into sections to allow it flex with the headIJ Pete Hinrichsen
