Combines R62 chopper speed

This is the fifth year I have combined beans with the chopper concave completely retracted and the chopper set on low speed. As long as my planter will handle bean trash that isnt cut into little pieces, I am not going to cut it any smaller than it is. My R60 doesnt have a chaff spreader so I leave a smaller windrow than you do with the same size head. Perhaps I am not as fussy about the appearance of my fields as long as yields stay up where they belong. The Chief Money Spender thinks it looks terrible but what does she know about itIJ Do you do any tillageIJ I will apply NH3 to bean stubble with no other primary tillage. Tom in MN

I think youre idea of speeding up the choper is a good one. We pull the knives down in every thing except wheat to save wear and for notill. Are you running the spreader all the way down. I notched the adjusting slots out more on the outside fins.
