Have had 52 choked so bad that had to drop rear feed floor door, unhook header pto, and run sep. at idle turning on then off feeder clutch to allow maximum torque through clutch. To help with feeder slugging, may need to speed feed chains up with lTM sheave nIJ and if using 500 header speed auger up to 800 speed. Did it by changing big sprocket to the smallest offered for the 700 header I believe.

Dan has the answer to your problems. lowering the floor of the front rear feed chain has probably been one of the best mods I have ever done. I used to have alot of trouble like that and this year I installed his kit and it is well worth the time and money. Hats off to Dan and those like him that take the time, effort and money to go outside the box a little. Contact Dan at Hurtt Equipment and do what he recomends.

Thanks for that. Best I can figure there are well over 50 feeders threwout North America and Australia that are breathing a sigh of relief. But for you in the mean time make sure all feeder belts are tensioned properly. Be sure right rear belt tesion arm is not bottoming againt anti-flyback iron very near its pivot. Make sure feed chains are tensioned up to specs. Make sure both clutches are full of large and small springs. Make sure you have feeder shocks and then I would run drum stops in grain position for all crops. This will give you maximum clearance under drum for maximum flow without changing drum size. Some guys recommend setting rear stops in corn position and then cutting top of block to get same maximum lift as you would get in grain position and this is fine also. I just like the grain position for we need chain to ride low when first striking out in crops that run heavy return and then we need it to float up maximum amount for heaviest flows. Good luck
