Investigate the Manchester chain--Manchester,OK. I believe. Be sure to get the heavy chain with the big pins. It wears much better and is worth the money. With the Manchester slate, which is shaped different and feeds quite well, consider powder hardsurfacing the leading edge of the slate. It lasts forever and maintains a square leading edge which grabs the material immediately.

You have a couple options, one has already been mentioned by another gleaner fan.. Now we need a little more info to come up with plan B. Is you chain ca550 or ca557 IJ Did you know you can replace just the chain, and transfer your flights to the new chainIJ Unfortunaly if your flights are also worn out you will have to replace the whole assy and the only thing you can get from AGCO is the Ca557 chain and it is pricey.. The ca557 is a beeffy chain and should last along time with proper care.. By the way while you are doing this repair look at the sprockets, also has you front feed drum had the guide_wear band installedIJ Oh and feed drum shocks kit have they been put onIJ Dang I sound like a parts man.... but just trying to help.

I don't really know what chains are on the machine now, how can they be identifiedIJ The machine was sold as 'rice spec' so I guess the ca557. Dealer said that chains now being supplied are not as good as our original and less than 5% cheaper to buy without the flights here in Australia. Also said there is a chromed pin chain available. We harvest rice and wheat so do not want to skimp on quality. Only push a 20' header because of the tough rice, in wheat does anyone used the low speed for the feed conveyors to save on wear and tearIJ

I agree with earlier comments, there are different chains, and with and without chrome pins. An aftermarket supplier of all sorts of options for chains, chains only or complete assemblies, including chrome pins is loewen and I believe on web site they do list an aussie supplier.
