Jeff, We havn't had a problem there but someone must have for in '95 they increased shaft and bearing size at that spot. Three or more years without feeder shocks did stress that feeder to the max. Rock sump can stress that area. Running corn without stripper can stress that area. Rock door hump can reduce stress in that area. Extending third helical will reduce stress in that area. Thanks for the info. Our dealer told us that serial n 64000 and lower had 1 1_4" shaft, n64000 and up had 1 1_2" shaft, and the 98s had 1 3_4" shaft. Ours had the 1 1_2" shaft (non tapered). We our replacing with the 1 3_4" and new side plates to fit the larger brng. Thanks again.
