Combines r62 main shaft

there is a new style shaft now. it is like the new R65 i think. agco put it in mine after 4 shafts. they said it had been out for a good while and i should of stop buying the older shaft, my dealers computer only showed the old shaft.come to find out agco never update the software to show the update.this update has been on this web site before because it is how i learned about it. the update changes the bearings,the rotor shieve it is all differnt.

There has been some component changes in this area over the years. It don't matter how early or late of a design you have the nut that secures everything has to be tight. There could allready be damage if the nut has ever been lose. We have many machines with the earliest components with no problems. In fact we have still never pulled a mainshaft on a R62-72 that originated at our dealership. We have replaced a few bearings next to varible but they never spun on shaft for the nut was holding everything in compression. Main hanger bearing on other end of shaft has given us very little to no trouble. If you should ever have trouble in this area be sure to replace components worn from running loose and torque it up to specs. I think it was 1995 on the R62-72 when they went with slightly larger bearing and torque was to be set at 600ft.lbs. I think some components were changed in about 2000 on the 52s and that torque was set to 600 also.
