We had a 99 R72, the bolts that hold the ring gear to the differential came out tearing up a lot of expensive parts. the oil level was fine. maybe its a problem that year with there asemblyIJ this happened at 1200 sep hrs.
There seems to be a problem in that time frame. Push for and or look for a factory fix. Gleaner has a great product. As customers let's help them keep it that way even if it involves holding their feet to the fire once in a while. Product and service is only as good as you make it.
We also have a 99 R72. The differential shaft broke in the tranny this year with just 1100 hours on the combine. We lucked out as it didn't hurt anything else. The dealer also had an old tranny that we tore apart and used the differential shaft in ours. Did you know they have been using the same tranny for many, many years.
