Combines R62 vs R65

Been a month or so since I attended the open house on the new ones. As far as I can remember: larger shaft on the pivot point for the feeder house. Heavier main clutch shaft with a couple improved bearings. Better ladder into the grain tank. Guard plate above tank unload auger changed to unload faster. Only one auger above the accelerator rolls on either the 62 or 65. Been that way for some time I think. Ed in Montana

There are two augers above the acc rolls on the 62 and65. the best improvment is the increased hydro tractive force. I think the new electromics are to complicated and unproven if you plan on running a machine a while id stick withe the 62 and save the money

Geez! talk about look and not see. I checked this AM and either someone crept into my shed last night and added another auger or it's been there all along. There are 2 augers above the Acc. rolls in my 72 also. Ed in Montana

Boy it is hard not to just say go with 65. The 65 has nice improvements that go along with cab that one may not take note of: like shoe movemont monitor, grain loss monitoring, seperator air volume adjuster, ect. Don't know what all is standard but be sure to check option list that can be added. Single point electrical hookup for header (don't imagine there is room to wire up Crary stuff to it though). Feeder is changed some in transition area which may well decrease chance of plugging in tough going. I'd love to run a 65 but a 62 will do about the same for less $$$. Good luck and I hope you end up with SIlVER. Remember that SIlVER is the highest award when we're talking grain harvesting.

Finally started receiving 65's and 75's. Got first chance to sit back, look around, adjust and play around with comfort controls, and take her for a spin. Only thing I new I needed to do is set rear axle for maximum steer just like we did to the previous models. Didn't need to look over rest of machine after experiencing the cab. I know what I would buy if I could find it within the budget!!!!! Good luck Kip and good job GlEANER.

the 65 is nicer with a few upgrades. The processer and most parts are the same. Cab is biggest change. Your call. Worth itIJ the 65 will retain value due to model change to a higher %. they will do the same job if comperably equipped.

Thanks, tbran. I did find my list of updates for the R series but it only goes from 1992 through 1999.
