Combines R62

The first digit of the serial number designates the model and the second is the year. Example 66000 is a 1996 R-62, 54000 is a 1994 R-52. Keep in mind that 1996 was the first year for the long shoe. Hope this helps. Wayne

The 62 has about 50% more capacity than the 52. The 62 will hit limitations on head size and speed when hyperized. Very hard to drive fast enough to keep the rotor full. 8 Row corn head min, and 24' floating bar min. then expect to run 6 to 7 mph. The bigger the GH the slower you will have to drive as to not be running over_pushing down beans to keep the rotor full.

The word I hear from others is that a turret unloader is nice for unloading on the go but it takes more horsepower. I havent heard of any breakdown type problems with turrets. Tom in MN

We got one of the first machines with this option.Ran it five seasons with no problems. Our dealer said he tries to order all machines with this option because he thinks they might resell better to farmers who have run competitive machines with turret unloaders.

Unless running in a lot of vines, the front feed chain should plug at header much more than the rear chain in any circumstance. Problems could be if belt is slipping, torque limiter clutch is worn out causing gradual slipping, badly bent feed chain bars, or very worn out cylinder bars.
