We have had two or three in the last couple of years,, all with the exact same story you just told.. I assumed there was probably something on the ladder platform that they didn't see, or maybe wrench by the door openingIJ I wonder if there is any way the ladder platform could have moved_bouncedIJ

There is a 5_16 bolt located right above the edge of the door on the bottom of the roof of the

silverluv I checked on those two bolts as well as making sure that the platform hadn't done something strange and moved. It's wierd but all of a sudden doors for those cabs are selling like hotcakes and at $1020 Aust. that will help Agco's bottom line. I'm starting to wonder wether frameless doors and windows are so great as i have had two explode on me in the last four months.

Had one on a R62 a few years back, hot afternoon in wheat. Door was open and just walking past to get into cab. Didn't touch it with anything and shattered into millions of tiny pieces.

They countersunk them top bolts that could contact glass if the roof got bent down but I forget what year they did that. We had one hit the first year with them cabs and have been removing hex head bolt and replacing with a pan head bolt any time we have an older machine come into the area. We have only lost a couple doors since. Be sure door doesn't contact the steal panel at bottom of door. Be sure door handle clears the slot in railing when door is in locked open position for I have had to slide railing over or grind out opening on many machines. DO NOT GET ANY HOT SPARKS ON WINDOWS FOR IT WIll PIT BAD. Check service bullitin at dealer where it makes note of plastic bushings around screws that hold latch in. Make sure door latch pin is adjusted so it isn't stressing door in closed position. It's hard to say when failure started but it could of cracked or chiped from a violent open or close earlier and then shattered at last closer. Make sure door handle hits the wedge area of plastic stop when door is swung open so it don't put a put a bunch of stress on latch area. I have reslanted wedge area and or moved stoper up to prevent handle from hitting vertical surface. last of all is remember to treat no frame door gently, I'm sure you were allready prepared to do that now.

Rolf you're not alone with the dry weather, the rain has been patchy up here to say the least. There has been a little planted on the Darling Downs but it is looking for a drink badly. We are still harvesting sorghum up here it's just not drying down and the corn is still a month away for most of it. Ordered the door from Agco (got to help Tom l's share prices) and just used plastic to close up the doorway when i'm harvesting.Maybe all the cab glass should have a light tint on it to stop the glass exploding into someones face because it really goes off with a bang.john.

Dan thanks for that info our cab does have the hex bolts so i will change them but i checked the clearance and i am pretty sure that the bolts wern't the problem. P.S. why doesn't Agco make their service bulletions availible online so that little accidents can be avoided sometimes or the latest update so that operators can check on problem areas. john

Hello Rolf Is that tint the same stuff car parts stores haveIJ Or is it a better productIJ I tinted side and rear windows on tractor cabs with film from a car parts store several years ago and would like to do it to tractors I have bought recently. My planting tractor has glass all the way to the floor causing my lunch and water jug to get hot on sunny days. Tinting would be nice on that tractor. Tom in MN
