Set the top sieve wide open, and I mean all the way, not just 3_4"! Bottom sieve closed just enough to leave a little trash in the sample. Wind I think was around 3-4. Don't use the small seeds kit restrictors! I've never had any luck at all with with them. They seam to do more harm than good by creating turbulance. Good luck 80stech
Just finished canola harvest, this is how we set the machines.Top sieve at 3_4,bottom at1_8,rotor on 12,rotor speed 850 rpm ,returned to acc. rolls. This set up gave us 2-3% dockage in 40-45 bushel canola.Good luck with your new machine.
Dead right about the small seeds kit. It did not work and created turbulence when folded up. Result: fine trash in what had been a clean sample! Cheers!
One more thing about Canola settings. Put the chaff deflector in the very bottom hole. This keeps the air pressure more uniform over the seives especially on windy days. Also provides better spread! This works on flax as well.
