Combines R72 Cummins Intermittent Starting Problems

There is a relay towards the bottom right hand side of the radiator frame that controls the fuel to the injector pump. It can fill up with chaff and not function properly at times. We have had problems with m11 not starting and either tap on this relay or take it apart and blow the dust out of it. Have replaced it several times but it seems like we get a lot of fine dust running a stripper head so now just open it and blow it out and then seal the cover with silicone and hold it with a plastic tie.

Try replacing the fuel solenoid on the top of the pump. Three socket head screws. Should be, or was for me anyway, a warranty item from mother Cummins. They changed something in the design of that part and it solved my problem.
