I only run a 27 foot header on my 72, but the single spreader does a nice job. I've run 85-90 bushel wheat through it and don't have a problem getting through the trash the next year.
Some things I have tried with 30' and single spreader. I use only two paddles instead of four. Try setting one full advanced and one full retarded. You can also adjust each arm up and down as the plate is flexible. Just hold paddle where you want before tightening bolts. Hope this helps.
