It isnt nice to mess around with Mother Nature!!!! But sometimes it works. Have you noticed 2 batteries last about half as long as 1 batteryIJ Its a pain in the neck, but we have gotten into the habit of disconnecting batteries in most multiple battery rigs. At least we can get the engines started without running cords for the battery charger. Tom in MN

Sorry to hear about the drought out there. That's crazy though...my dad and I drove through lincoln and Omaha a week ago, and I swear a firetruck was driving in front of us,lOl. Hope it rains for ya!

So that's the problem. Hmmm. I have noticed the same thing where i work. Boss had to replace fairly new batteries in one of his 9610's. Heck, the combine is only 2 years old, and was barely run last year. They don't even have break-in time!

Good point about unhooking batterys. Not only does that help in getting the terminals cleaned once a year but prevents normal key off drain from killing batterys over time. The normal drain from todays electronics on batterys is little but to much (in my opinion) for farm machinery with exstending idle periods. The longer the battery sits discharged the more it hurts it permanately. It takes days of normal use or battery charger to get a badly discharged battery back to life (and will never come back to life completely). Keeping your batterys charged up will save you a bunch in battery expenses.

Guy's try installing a solar cell on the roof above your combine storage spot and run a couple of wires down to the batterys, and you won't have as much trouble with battery's again!!!!
