Are your accelerator rolls worn out or not running correctlyIJ We had a bearing go out, and the gears were not running correctly. Of course Dad was running it couldn't find the trouble, didn't beleive the tattle tell light and when I got him shut down there was quite a bit of buildup around the cage on the discard end and the material wasn't being pulled through the accelerator rolls. yes they are running correctly. It has only 450 hours. it has done this intermitently since new. are there cover plates available like the N6's hadIJ After running N6's for years sometimes I don't believe those lights either!!! Thanks!!!

quite a common thing this past season, particularly where there was a decent wheat crop with short straw. the conclusion was bridging of the chaff and short pieces of straw from below. I think Ag world in Kinistino Sask figured out a solution. I'll call them tomorrow and see what they did to fix this and get back to you. I think the custom cutter I spoke with may have done the Tbran high low bar trick on the last row to fix the plugging.

That's a new one for me. Make sure there isn't any bolts that are to long where threads might be holding up some straw and soon it grows and grows. Be sure cylinder bars are extended to discharge. Check discharge bars on end of rotor to see they aren't worn to bad for they may not be moving material to chopper or discharge beater. If you have discharge beater be sure that blades are turned with knotched side out for if they are not pulling material from rotor you will be taking alot of power and grinding the straw alot. Kurt-I had a very similar incident with my dad, with the same bearing. Nice to know we are not alone in these "whose the parent" moments! I couldnt believe it when I read your post--it could have been my story a couple years ago!
