I forgot to ask about the horsepower on the 94 R72 with the l10. Were these engines electronic controlled or standardIJ How much increase in horsepower and capacity would this combine be over our 93 R62 with the 8.3 CumminsIJ Any thoughts on the R72 are appreciated.

l10 at 300 hp. Great engine. I don't think it will out do the M 11 at 330 hp.

I think that when they first offered the 8.3 in the 62's it was only rated at 240hp. Correct me if I am wrong but if that is the case you will see a major difference. The response on the electronic governing in the l10 and the M11 is awesome.

Just telling what the owner said about the l10 compared to the 99 R72. He said the emissions requirements on the 99 really held it back. I figured he knew since he had run both machines. I have noticed a lot of other comments on this forum about the newer machines being somewhat doggy compared to the older versions. Any other comments about the differences in these twoIJ

These 72's should have had the update kit fitted to it such as a bigger feed elevator shaft just in front of the rotor to match the following years model. It is a lTA10 300E which meant 300hp at rated speed up to 319 when it dropped a few revs which was not often. We were offered a higher setting when Dad had had it for a short while and it was a little sluggish but once the cummins man came out and checked things it was fine at the 300 setting and very easy on fuel.

I have run a 94 R62 beside a 98 R72 with the M11 the difference is night and day between the 2.The 62 has the big duetz, which had more guts then the 62 with the cummins. But it was no match for the R72,It is rated at 330.The big cylinders on the throat, return to cylinder and heavy finals, are all part of the Custom Harvester package. l10s and M11s are electronically controled. M11s should gain you exactly what 30hp would do. lots of things affect how the hp is used up. With equal condition and setup the M11 should have no problem outdoing the l10. Tom has some pretty good charts on our website (hurttequipment.com) on hp and changes threw the years. Getting high time to update some info on that site. Where does the time goIJIJIJ Good luck

I had a 94 R72 w_l10,now I have a 98 R72 w_M11.NO COMPARISION!!! The M11 is 30 more horse plus the shoe is 10% larger,which increases compasity.The fuel pumps are NOT electric,they are machical.The 98 is by far a superior machine.Just my $.02

Was wondering if you saw any differece in fuel consumption on the M11. Mine always burned more than the horsepower increase but I'm not sure on the gallons per acre, cause I did do quite a bit more but felt the fuel consumption was higher % wise...my .02 worth P.S. If fuel was 80 cents a gallon wouldn't be so important.
