Combines R72 Unloading Auger Adjustments

Hmm, the measurement from the end of the cyl to the end of the ram where the jam nut tightens against, with the auger in the cradle is just a tad under 3.5". then tighten the jam nut. If it would not go out far enough there must be a blockage in the cyl. or the cyl base is loose. I think you are using manual out to make sure it is fully extended and not timing out on you .IJ.

you don't have micro switchs at both endsIJ i thought that was a on the 2 series.

Yes, we tried it with the 3.5" measurement and that is when we could not get it to lay down in the cradle. We then shortened up the distance on the rod end to keep the 3.5" measurement and get the auger to lay down. Doesnt seem to swing out quite far enough. There is still a 3_8" gap where the anchor block would meet the stop on the tube. My question is, should these two just about touch to make this auger swing out to a point where it eyes up straight.

On our N 5's we had to move the chain where it attaches to the auger one link over and then do your adjusting on the cylinder. Don't know if they are the same as the 72's.

last year, we had a slight problem, that when folding out the auger it would, get within a foot of all the way extended then it would slow down a tremendous amount so that the auger was barely still folding out, had to be careful not to turn on the auger too fast to make sure that the auger was out all the way, never did find out if it was in the cylinder, adjusted many things but just learned to deal with it i guess. Sounds like it is going out as far as it is designed for. Should adjust tie rod so it is not putting pressure down into saddle when cylinder is suched all the way in. Then fold it out and it should clear the stop you are looking at a bit. It is only there prevent auger from folding all the way around forward if the nut in cylinder comes off or tie rod unhooks. Good luck
