Is this a demo unit or did you purchase itIJ There is one here at the local Gleaner dealer and I'm going to try to get photos of it being demoed. Here in the lower elevations of Columbia County grain harvest is just getting started. By the end of next week it should be well under way. let me know how you like this Palouse machine.--Ray My email address: raybrown@rmci.net

Were these machines all in the same fieldIJ I'm sure you adjusted your speed, clearance, and cylinder RPM to try correct. If you check losses and find them excesive I would consider the stationary rasp bar trick. If you get me your email address I will try find the name and number of a guy in your area that I sent short flat rasp bars too. He was fastening them in for blue grass a while back and he may be into wheat by now. He could tell you how he has the rest of his machine setup also. let us know how you do.

Machines are in three different locations.I have tried many adjustments and found no silver bullet. I don't fell that losses are excessive, they are just there and I find that annoying. Hot weather and a breeze have improved things over that last few days. I do believe that the extended bars are conserving horsepower, because the 62 is running nearly 5 miles per hourand I don't think we could have done that last year. I am going to hold off on the rasp bar trick for the moment and see what the weather does.

Thanks for the info. I don't know what the temp was up north in lind, but it was close to 100 here yesterday. Click on the link below to see a picture of the machine that is located in Dayton. I have a few more closeup shots of the leveling system. I'll try to get a webpage together of these photos and post the address here for everybody to see. I looked yesterday at the machine located here and they have put a different header on it. Probably a 30' reel.--Ray My email: raybrown@rmci.net
