Is the R75 still priced $20,000 over the identicle R65IJ They were last year when I traded my 98 330HP R72 for a new R65. With the 305 HP R65 and all of the improvements in the threshing area I have been very satisfied. In both corn and beans I went the same speed as I had with the R72

I can't answer your question on the price difference between the two machines.I haven,t considered any thing less than the N7 and R72 series through the years. The larger engine and grain tank has been the main reason. If the price difference is as much as you say and the performance is that close, some folks may be able to consider the R65 over the R75. Although if you have a lot of though conditions [mud and damp crop] the R75 would be worth the extra money. The M11 motor will give the extra torque and a little more fuel will help also.

I thought the same way until I ran the R65 this year. Also the cummins rep told me at a farm show he could up the R65 power to 350 if I wanted. It would cost about $600 to have him come out. My custom Harvester friend also told me ( he runs 5 R65's) that he used to run R72, but had switched to R65 because of the price difference and the fact that they trade every year. He said that in Tradeing they weren't able to get more than about $7000 of that $20,000 back on the trade. If you keep your combine 10 years this won't be much of a factor at the end, but of course if you trade every one or two years it is. I've found there is a little known secret in pricing of new machinery (at least to me) For the highest HP tractor or combine of any brand they gouge the heck out of you because they know everyone want's to have the biggest. Usually the next size smaller is a lot less cost and is the same exact machine except for the HP.

Are the drive belts [engine and hydro] the same nowIJ Didn't the N7-R72 series have one extra groove that made them have a wider beltsIJ
