Why does Agco think they should get $17000 more for a 75 over a 65IJ I agree that the M-11 is much better than the 8.3 but it just shouldn't cost that much more. If you price the industrial engines from Cummins there is only about $4500 difference in them. Also John Deere prices the 9760 about $11000 more list over 9660. Both have HP comparable to R65 and R75. On used John Deere brings about $4500 more for 97 over 96 in the first 3 years, Gleaner about the same. So if you trade often you just can't get as much back as you should for the extra $17000 paid at the begining. Other than the engine HP I am not aware of any other diffences between a 65 and a 75 that would warrant the extra cost. Don't get me wrong, I think a lot of people want and need the extra power of the 75, I just think Agco is getting too much extra for it.

Perhaps they are selling the R65 too cheaply - i.e., discounting too much in relation to R75IJIJ

WRONG! The 75 is to much more. Maybe they jack up the price to cover more warranty repairs from having to much power on the combine. That being said a class six 2005 65 has more power now than a class seven did 10 years ago.

I always thought it was to much between the 2 engines. But now there is no difference in the 65 and 75 other then a chip.Now it is even more of a rip off then before. IG

As I understand they do make black boxes that boost HP 10 to 20% that would get a 65 to a 75 level. I am planning on doing that to a 8130 JD tractor because they get 10,000 bucks for 10 HP. I was told it would get a little better fuel economy because it bypasses some of the EPA standards for emisions control. Probably will pollute the world but I think the EPA has went a little overboard.

Does anybody know the ratio of 65's to 75's soldIJ Maybe they are doing it because they can, rather than for some real cost of production reason. When I bought my Cat MT 855 4 years ago there was about a $10,000 spread between each of the 3 smaller models, (Mt835,845,855) but $20,000 more for the biggest (Mt865). Sales manager told me it was because they could. He said demand was for the biggest model and 50% of their sales were for it regardless of the price. I've noticed similar priceing of the biggest model of combines and tractors with other brands. Where am I going with thisIJ I think the market has told them (AGCO) to come out with the Class 8 combine or bigger, the 600HP MT875, and the 600HP 4WD Challenger tractor. "If you make it we'll buy it"
