Combines Radials with Straight Header

With the radials you can usually run a little less tire pressure, but for combines the pressure is usually pretty high just to carry the load. I doubt you will notice any difference. I was in a 9610 this summer with 30.5-32 radials, but never thought to pay attention to the difference in stability. I would be much more concerned about the vibration of the deep lugs on the highway.

Trelleborg tires are from Europe and probably the best Ag tires made. For a combine you want the 414 Tractor Tire in size 850_60-38 with 14 ply rating. This is a huge tire and works well in muddy conditions such as rice because it cleans well and is very tall. What makes these tires different is that they have both radial and bias plys, allowing them to run at very low pressure and high loads. The disadvantage is that if you push them to the limit running extremely low air pressure the sidewalls will develop leaks over time due to excessive flexing. This is more of a concern with tractors than combines. Two sites are: http:__www.w-s-d.com and http:__www.trellcanada.com
