go to the back of the head and tilt the guards down by loosening the nut 15_16ths turn in stud (7_16th" wrench) pushing the angle UP which tilts the tips out front down. Then tighten the idler on the header drive belt thus spreading the lower pulley so as to make the belt suck down in the pulley about 3_4 to and inch - this speeds the sickle up. Should help.

You say you replaced the sections, but how are the guardsIJ If they are worn out a new set will make a world of difference.
