Combines Rake up pickupIJ

Depends what your picking up. If you have a drill with wide spacing, or generally short straw, then a rake-up would work better. If you mainly use your pick-up for canola, I'd get the Deere. Keep in mind that the Rake-up has more moving parts and the wheels don't pivot.

I pickup alot of small windrows with shorter straw. I assume I would be better off with the Rake-upIJ Are there any major problems with the Rake-up'sIJ I pickup oats, barley and some wheat.

We bought our first Rake-up three years ogo, having been convinced they pick cleaner by a farmer that was running JD's,Swath Masters and Rake-ups.He weighed and recorded from all his 9750's and cosistantly gained from 21_2 to 4 bushels per acre in cereals with Rake-ups.little differance in canola,but both Swath Masters and Rake-ups travelled faster because they were on Precision heads.He now runs all Rake-up_ Precision combinations.We zero-till and much prefer our Rake-up_Precisions to JD_914 in all aspects,including flotation and maintenance.
