I am not sure how many 7388s were produced, but it was not a new design. It was a 4386 with a new number. IH came up with a new numbering scheme the last year that they produced the large 4 wheel drive tractors. The 4386 became the 7388. The 4586 became the 7588. The 4786 became the 7788. The large IH 4 wheel drive tractors from the 4366 through the 7788 were manufactured in Fargo, ND by the Steiger Tractor Company.
