Combines Rasp bar in seperator

I have found a new item in corn and soybeans that is proving out really well. It is a (sorry bout this) JD 4400-6600 cyl bar in lieu of the Gleaner F-G concave rasp bar. ( A TR70 works just as well) I cut a lenght that will slip in through the feed chain inspection door in the grain bin and slip over to the end of the separator grate, front side, beginning of the sep. bars. The shape is right, you have to cut off the rear 1" of the trailing edge so it cradles in the slot between the bars. Holes are drilled and tapped so one needs only 7_16" X 2.5" bolts and large washers. A reverse or forward slant doesn't seem to matter. This is just as effective and easier to put in. It will eliminate most all crop cyl. loss and if it doesn't , we add another. We don't really notice any more HP required either. I usually take mine out for beans but I forgot yesterday and went to beans and really don't think I will. This is of course really only needed when all reverse bars are out, but I think would work in all machines when cyl loss is incurred.
