I bought the F-2 bars for my R=52 but before I went to install them I found an old cyl. bar from an old massey in the shed with just a little cutting it fit right inbetween the crossbars and it extended all the way across the seperator area I welded some spacer blocks under the bolt hoes so they could be pulled down tight without bowing remember to us grade 8 bolts. don't think it really matters what u use or where u put them just so they disrupt the flow and tumble the straw in order to shake loose more grain. just my thoughts Bob hope I helped some
