A 1980 could be a very bad mistake. The 1982_Series 3 and newer were much more reliable machine. The Series 3 was built heavier throughout the machine and all of the engine problems were dealt with. Most 1980's have been in the salvage yard for several years because of their weak points. Engine was the main reason, spun bearings and thrown rods. Find a current N series shop manual and read about all the possible updates prior to apx. serial n5000 on the N6. I own an N6 with a higher serial n and have the shop manual. I love my machine but wouldn't want someone to buy trouble.
