Follow wire into side counsel and check that plug. Without having a schematic in front of me I would say it is a ground or currant feed problem. Ground would likely be on floor of side counsel. Fuel fail would point to sending unit which would very unlikely be cause of your problem but may be casualty of problem. leave covers off of steering counsel and when problem arrives be ready to test currant feed for currant and likewise be ready to check ground. To test ground have test light cliped onto positive terminal of cab relay and probe ground leed to module. If everything checks good to module you may be looking at module failure. Good luck
