MN Boy, I believe the pivot point you are talking about has the grease fitting on the top, but under the shacker panIJ Best way to grease is to use a Hyd. jack and raise up under the center part of the frame. Some times the brass bushing in that pivot area is worn down that much your fitting is blocked also and needs additional work to complete the lub. of it.

The axle has 4 height settings, so the zerks can be on top or on bottom, depending how it is set. These zerks can get packed with junk, and I think your idea of jacking up the machine is probably the easiest solution. If that doesn't work, start taking stuff apart I guess.

We also have to jack up the rear of our 1480 to get these to take grease. You can clean em out and put brand new fittings and the back one still won't take unless you jack up the back of the combine. It's a pain but it's the only way I found. Chads
