Combines RED How bean harvest goingIJ

Welllllllllll, we got the first 95 acres of soybeans harvested. They ran around 50 bpa with a moisture content at 13% or so. The next 600 acres of beans won't be dried down enough until early next week. Jeff was thinking about sticking on the cornhead and shell a 40 acre field. Corn was testing at 18%. The Titan II is running great! We haven't had the first bit of trouble with it. This is the third season we have used this machine and it has run strong and flawless. The soybeans_wheat interseeding was a FlOP! The wheat yield was 67bpa but the test weight was a meager 52 pounds. We got docked big time for that. The beans in that field have only around 40 pods per plant. I would be surprised if the yield was 25 at best. A lot of the trampled stalks never rose back up. So we will have a lot of beans left in the field.

Red, The soybeans that you interseeded will make 2x what our full season beans will make here in SW MO. - after about 10 days of +100 temps and wind back in August, the full season beans are making a whopping 5-15 bpa and many are so drought damaged that dockage is unreal. The doublecrops here will do better than that due to rain the last 2 weeks - i'm guessing in the 20 - 25 range. I saw your post in reply to the poor fella that still is waiting on 2 sts's and your said you saw a 4420 or a 4400, are you interested in still buying oneIJ If you're interested in buying a combine, go with a 66 or 7720 - my little brother and I bought a 79' 6620 with a 220F for 7K and the thing is in perfect shape, we had to look a while and we bought this one off of a guy in Central Il. who recently went up to a 9500. Even after hauling I think we got a hell of a deal. Anyway, hope you guys can get harvest done without trouble and anymore weather delays. 95man

Thanks but it looks like we are on hold until next week. Rain is forecasted for central Indiana today through Sunday. Might see some SNOW on Sunday with a killer frost. Too bad because Jeff planted 38 acres of beans after the wheat harvest. They might make 10 at best right now. Are you in the Joplin areaIJ

Red, I'm located in between Joplin and Springfield, town of Aurora, which is about 15 south of I-44. Actually I live 7 miles north of Aurora, about 5 miles south of 44. We have lots of cattle and pasture and hay. My brother and I do custom fescue harvesting for income, we now got the 7700 and 6620, which I believe will make the best and most productive crew in our area - we take much pride in smoking all of our competition. My little bro. is JDgreen on the talkshow - he's a H.S. freshman. I'm a junior in college at SMS in Springfield - majoring in whatelse but Agronomy!!! You also have read some posts by 95woman, that is my future wife Sarah, also an Agronomy major here at school. Well I have to go, I just took a little break from typing a paper about corn harvest for class, so I better get back to it. My e-mail is raw055s@smsu.edu, keep in touch and i'll talk to you later. 95man
