This is like comparing apples to oranges, but we had a 1680 with the same problem. You could get it to work, and about the time you start cutting it stoped again. We found that it was a bad wire. It had broke in the wiring harness, where it comes across the feederhouse. When we moved the header down, it would stretch and shut it off. We just spliced in a new wire outside of the harness and it worked just fine. Be sure and check your wiring.
