After a fair amount of trial and error we found what works on a 525 head in all soystall or short: 1. Install 12 sweeps--6 on each end, arranged in a spiral pattern. 2. Cut sweeps approx 1.5 longer than reel tines. You dont want sweeps to extend below sickle or they will bend sections upward. 3. Sweeps tend to loosen and then fall off unless you improve the hold down brackets supplied in the kit. Fabricate safety holders from 1 x 10 x 16 ga galvanized (.070) with clearance holes for 3_8 carriage bolts. Form to fit around reel bat, 1 per sweep, and attach under 3_8 carriage bolts that come with sweep kit. We did the hose mod thing 2 years ago but really didnt notice any improvement in feeding. We would have removed it except for the fact it did stop a rock from going into the machine. That would have been the first rock in the R60.
