Combines Reels for corn heads

We have the same problem in our area. I had some corn down but it wasn't so bad that I needed a reel. Neighbors that planted Pioneer 34R07 have a total mess. The only way they can pick it is with a reel. We are from western Iowa. One neighbor got his from Harvey Bish in Giltner NE. but I guess it is impossible to buy one now because there is so much demand. Another neighbor bought one from a company in Oskaloosa IA. I can't remember what the name of it is. If you need to know I can find it for you.

Talk to a pioneer dealer. last year we had down corn and the pioneer dealers bought a bunch of reels and loaned them out to those in need. They might be doing the same this year.34r07 is bad for going down.So is 34e79.The yield is there but the stand isn't.

There were at least three cornhead reels at the Husker Harvest Days last week.

Also St. John's Welding at (800) 549-3289 and Will Mfg. at (785) 935-2304. We prefer these because they use a flat paddle instead of round rods.

Grain getter--thanks for the input. FYI, we're about a week behind on building reels. I believe Will Mfg. could still have one ready in 2-3 days if needed.

I feel for you guys. I'm from Delaware and we were hit by a hurricane last fall. Blew most of our corn flat on the ground. I got a corn saver from Texas that worked pretty well considering how bad the corn was down. It is not a reel but a sort of drag chain that goes down to the tip of the snout and pulls the stalks back to the auger. Good luck
