Combines reg vs quick cut sections IJ

I wouldnt go back to 3 sections period. Make sure your sections are riding on the guards and not on the hold-downs. That has always been a problem for me and I am thinking of trying a sickle with every other section upside down. Tom in MN

I would check into the SCH Sickle, we are using them for our second season and they are working great so far. They are simple and require way less maintaince than the double cut system.

I have the regular 3" sections and get along great. Was cutting 30 bushel beans the other day at 6 mph. Didn't have any problem at all at getting a good cut.

We are also using the SCH system for our 2nd year and are very pleased with it. We used to use 3" standard, but you have to shim them constantly. The SCH you don't. We wouldn't go back.

I don't like the quick cut for it would not cut navy beans clean. The standard worked better for us and now we order the flex heads with SCH which works great. We just got a head with the Crary cutterbar and it looks very good but havn't tried it yet. The only way we could get the quick cut to work is to fasten a full set of bottom guards on the top of sickle and shim to just fit. We also flipped ever other section and modified some standard guards for the location ahead of the sickle head.
